About Lucknow University
The Court of the University was formed in March, 1921, and the first meeting of the Court was held on March 21, 1921. Lucknow University began teaching of both in formal and informal pattern on July 17, 1921.
Teaching for the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Law was done in the Canning College and faculty of Medicine in the King George’s Medical College and Hospital.
The Canning College came under the control of the University on July 1, 1922. The King George’s Medical College and the King George’s Hospital were taken over by the University, consequent upon the transfer by the Government, on the March 1, 1921.
