The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the postponement of the AP Intermediate exams for the students amid COVID-19 in the country. The Andhra Pradesh government has postponed the year-end examinations for Intermediate students after the suggestion of the High Court.
State Education Minister A Suresh, “The High Court has asked us to reconsider the decision to go ahead with the Intermediate examinations (from 9 May 2021), in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation. We have also taken into consideration the concerns of the students and parents.”
The government will release the new schedule for the Intermediate after reviewing the pandemic situation in the state. Replying to a question about the new schedule, he said: “We will inform this to the High Court tomorrow.”. However, Minister A Suresh remained silent about the class 10 exams.
Many students have filed petitions in the AP High Court against the government’s decision for the postponement of the exams. These students have demanded to conduct Class 10 and Intermediate, despite the increasing COVID-19 cases in the state.
CBSE, Maharashtra, Bihar, and many other state boards have either postponed their exams or cancelled in light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases. The revised schedule for the exams will be released once normalcy has been restored in the states.
