Here’s an overview of the major board-related exams, other entrance exams and university exams that were postponed this week:
Goa Board Exams Postponed – Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, has announced that the Goa board exams for classes 10 and 12 have been postponed. The decision was made when the state reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 21 April 2021.
Karnataka KSET 2021 Postponed – The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2021 exam is postponed by the University of Mysore, Karnataka due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the country. Earlier, the exam was postponed on 10 April 2021, and the University of Mysore, Karnataka rescheduled the exam to be held on 25 April 2021. But now, the exam has been postponed again until further notice.
CSIR NET 2021 Deferred – The CSIR NET 2021 exam is likely to be deferred to the middle of July as announced by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research today on 22 April 2021 due to rising COVID-19 cases across the nation.
Chhattisgarh Board Exam Postponed – The CGBSE class 10 exams have been cancelled and the CGBSE class 12 exams postponed by the Chhattisgarh board. The decision has been taken amid a constant rise in the COVID-19 cases in the country and the state. Chhattisgarh class 10 board exams were scheduled from 15 April 2021 to 1 May 2021.
Pondicherry University Exams Postponed – Pondicherry University has decided to postpone the upcoming university exams 2021. The decision to postpone the exams was taken in light of the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in the country. Varsity’s theory and practical exams, which were scheduled to begin 19 April 2021 have been postponed for all university departments and affiliated colleges.
JEE Main April 2021 Session Postponed – The National Testing Agency has postponed the JEE Main 2021, which was scheduled from 27 April 2021 to 30 April 2021. The decision to postpone the exam was taken in light of the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and because of the safety of the students in the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The new exam dates for the April session will be released 15 days prior to the commencement of the exam.
Cochin University CUSAT 2021 Postponed – The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has released an official statement regarding the postponement of all the examinations including the CUSAT Common Admission Test. The university notification stated, “All the University Exams scheduled to be conducted from 19 April 2021, have been postponed. The revised dates of the postponed examinations will be announced by the university officials soon.”
MSBSHSE Class 10 Exam Cancelled – The Maharashtra board has cancelled the MSBSHSE class 10 board exams after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state. The decision to cancel the class 10 exam was announced by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). Earlier, MSBSHSE postponed the exams for June 2021, but now the decision stands cancelled.
Uttarakhand Board Exams Postponed – The Uttarakhand Government has canceled the UKBSE class 10 board exams and postponed the class 12 exams due to a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the state. The exams were scheduled to commence on 4 May 2021 and continue until 22 May 2021.
ICSE Class 10 Exam Cancelled and Class 12 Exam Postponed – ICSE class 10 exam has been cancelled completely by the CISCE Board. The Board had earlier announced that it was cancelling the ICSE exam and postponing the ISC class 12 exam. In line with that announcement, class 10 students were given two options – either to appear in the exam at a later date or not to appear at all. Meanwhile, with the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in the country, the Board has taken the decision to cancel the ICSE class 10 exams completely.
UGC NET Dec 2020 Cycle Postponed – The Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, took to Twitter to announce the postponement of the UGC NET Dec 2020 cycle which was scheduled to be held from 2 May 2021 to 17 May 2021. The announcement came in view of the sudden outburst of COVID-19 cases in the country and resulting lockdowns in place.
