Notification in Line with UGC Guidelines
The AMU notification is in line with the latest guidelines released by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC has instructed universities to “conduct all merit-based examinations by the end of October.” UGC guidelines also state that the universities need to fill up all vacant seats by 30 November 2020.
In April, the earlier guidelines, released by UGC, directed universities to begin the academic session by September. But due to the exponential rise in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country, the commission was forced to push back the dates by a few months.
Aligarh Muslim University or AMU is one of the top institutions in the country. Established in 1885, it offers courses in various disciplines both in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
