AIMA MAT December 2019 Examination Details


As per the schedule released by AIMA, the MAT MBA 2019 December Registration commenced on October 3, 2019.

MAT 2019 Registration Ends for PBT Exam on December 1, 2019, and for the examination, it concludes on December 6, 2019. The Paper-Based Test (PBT) will be held on December 8 while the MAT 2019 Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to be conducted on December 14, 2019, respectively.

Management Aptitude Test is a standard aptitude test conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions into more than 600 Business Schools in India. The MAT exam is being conducted since 1988 and is one of the largest MBA entrance exams in India, even has more acceptability than CAT. The MAT exam score is considered as a basis for admission into MBA and other related programs.

The MAT Exam is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India as a national level test in the year 2003. The candidates have the choice of giving the exam either online (Computer Based Test) or offline (Paper Based Test). The exam can only be given in English only. The MAT Exam is conducted four times in a year, in the months of February, May, September, and December.

Syllabus for 2019 MAT Exam

There are mainly five sections in the MAT Exam that are Language Comprehension, Mathematics, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment. All these sections together carry a total of 200 marks basically, sectional total marks of 40 per section. The difficulty level differs from section to section, from Language Comprehension being the easiest to Data Sufficiency and Intelligence and Critical Reasoning being the toughest sections encountered by the students in the paper.

MAT Exam Pattern 2019

MAT exam can be given in online mode (Computer Based Test (CBT), offline mode (Paper Based Test (PBT)), or in both the modes. The candidates who are opting for both, have the advantage of selecting two more colleges for sending the scores in addition to the 5 colleges that are normally allowed.

The paper consists of four sections that are: Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence, and Critical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Indian and Global Environment. The total number of questions is 200 and 150 minutes (Two and a half hours) are given to complete the exam. Each section has 40 questions.

The questions will be objective in nature in which 1 mark will be given for every correct response and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. 

MAT Exam Centres in 2019

Numerous MAT 2019 exam centers are available all across the country. There are different exam centers for Online and Offline test. Totally MAT 2019 exam will be held in 59 cities across the country.

Candidates must reach the MAT 2019 exam centers at least 30 minutes before the exam time. The gates of the exam center will open one hour prior to the exam. Candidates can select 2 cities at maximum from the given cities as exam center.

Documents to be carried to the Exam Centre

The candidate should carry the following documents to the exam center

  • MAT Admit Card
  • Any Government ID proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, etc).

MAT 2019 Results

Candidates can view the Result of MAT on the official site of AIMA. MAT 2019 Result will be declared on September 28, 2019, for both the online and offline candidates. No scorecard will be sent to the candidates via post. Results can only be seen online. The results can also be viewed through SMS. This score will be valid for one year

Scorecard will contain the following details

  • Candidate’s Marks and Percentile in each Subject.
  • Candidate’s Total Score and Overall percentile.
