AICTE Extends Admission Deadline for Engineering Courses

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has extended the admission deadline for engineering courses for the academic year 20-21. In a formal notice released on 3 December 2020, the council has declared that the admission deadline has been extended for the engineering courses till 31 December 2020.

The extension for engineering courses was due to the unexpected delay in the declaration of the CET results of some of the states. This was done at the request of various states that haven’t declared the result yet.

Meanwhile, the Bombay University and College Teachers’ Union (BUCTU) has also requested the vice-chancellor of Mumbai University (MU) to postpone the first-year degree college exams. The degree college teachers have suggested that the first-year examinations should be postponed to the end of January 2021. Before this, the organization has claimed that several colleges were not able to teach the mandatory 90 days before the examinations and it is impossible to hold the examinations in the month of December.
