The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has cancelled the AHSEC HS first-year exam 2021 today, according to India Today report. Exams are cancelled amid COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns imposed across the nation. Additionally, authorities have decided to promote Class 11 students to the next class without examination. This decision has come as a relief to many students and parents who were against the conduct of exams during this pandemic.
As per the official statement, “The Higher Secondary First Year Examination, 2021 scheduled to be held from 04/05/2021 which was postponed has now been cancelled and all the students, who have filled up online applications for the same are hereby declared to have been promoted to the HS 2nd year class for the academic session 2021-2022.”
Earlier, the board postponed AHSEC 2021 first-year exams that were scheduled to be conducted from 11 May 2021. However, due to the increasing COVID-19 cases, the board has finally cancelled the AHSEC Class 11 exams.
CBSE, UP, Maharashtra, and other state boards have either cancelled or postponed their board exams until further notice. Students are advised to keep checking for exam-related updates on the board’s official website. Authorities will release the revised dates of the postponed exams after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country.
